How to Combat Donor Fatigue

Even if you don’t know the exact definition of donor fatigue, you’ve probably experienced it once or twice…as a fundraiser or as a donor yourself!


Donor fatigue is when donors become less responsive and willing to contribute to your fundraising efforts. In 2023, 87% of nonprofits said that donor fatigue was a struggle.


The good news is that you can do something immediately to prevent donor fatigue: give your donors a vacation from solicitation. Build a ‘summer break’ into your fundraising calendar where you stop asking donors for financial support.
