We’re excited to share that Donor Boom has been re-certified by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) as a Certified Women-Owned Business in 2026.
We first earned this certification last year and are happy to report that it was not any easier this time around (nor should it be)!
Recertification confirms that we continue to meet WBENC’s rigorous national standards for businesses that are 51%+ women-owned, operated, and controlled.
Not to be overachievers or anything…but we’re 100% women-owned, operated, and controlled.
This accreditation means a lot to us, and quite frankly, we hope it matters to everyone we work and connect with! Read on to learn why!

What is the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) Certification?
The Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) is more than a long, fancy title with a short, snappy acronym. It provides the gold-standard certification for women-owned businesses in the United States.
The WBENC certification process is comprehensive and rigorous. It includes:
Detailed documentation and verification
Review of ownership and leadership structure
Evaluation of business operations and governance
Ongoing recertification requirements
This is not a one-time designation or a self-reported label. Recertification confirms that Donor Boom continues to meet these standards year after year. To be honest, we aren’t just meeting those standards. We’re exceeding them.
Why Being a Women-Led Company Matters to Us
Donor Boom didn’t become a women-owned business by accident. Sari built it that way intentionally.
From day one, she wanted to create a company that reflects the leadership, collaboration, and perspective we believe the nonprofit sector needs more of. And what is that exactly?
Women’s leadership creates momentum for continued equity
Collaboration and diversity leads to better solutions
Supporting one another drives meaningful change
Those beliefs shape how we lead, how we partner with clients, and how we approach fundraising strategy. Being a 100% women-owned and women-led company isn’t just something we celebrate…it’s part of our DNA.
Why WBENC Certification Matters for Nonprofits
Many organizations hear “WBENC certification” and think it only applies to corporations.
In reality, this certification can directly benefit nonprofits, especially those working with corporate funders, sponsors, and partners.

Here are three key ways.
Stronger Alignment With Corporate Sponsors and Funders
Many corporations have supplier diversity programs that prioritize working with certified diverse vendors, including women-owned businesses. If your nonprofit partners with corporate sponsors (or hopes to), this can matter.
Working with a WBENC-certified vendor may help your corporate partners:
Meet diversity and inclusion goals
Strengthen ESG commitments
Report on diverse supplier partnerships
Deepen alignment with mission-driven organizations
In some cases, this alignment can even strengthen sponsorship proposals and funding conversations.
Independent Verification of Operational Excellence
WBENC certification verifies more than ownership. It confirms that a business meets high standards of leadership, governance, and operations.
For nonprofits, this means confidence that you’re working with a partner that has been independently vetted and verified. And hey, that’s us!
Values Alignment in a Mission-Driven Sector
Nonprofits are values-based organizations, and the partners you choose should reflect your values.
Our WBENC recertification reflects the same values we bring to our work:
Thoughtful, data-driven strategy
Transparent partnership
Long-term sustainability
Commitment to equity and impact
We believe fundraising works best when values and strategy move in the same direction. Which is why we love working with fellow nonprofit pros like Matthew Easterwood, Founder of Queer for Hire, and nonprofit orgs like WANDA (Women and Allies and CORA (Community Overcoming Relationship Abuse).
WBENC Recertification Reflects Ongoing Commitment
Initial certification is a milestone, but recertification is a commitment. And we’re certainly not afraid of that!
Maintaining WBENC certification requires ongoing documentation, review, and accountability. It demonstrates that Donor Boom continues to operate as a women-owned, women-led firm that meets national standards year after year.
We’re proud to be part of the WBENC network and the community of women-owned businesses creating meaningful change. We’ll put in as many hours as it takes.

Looking Ahead: Partnering for Greater Impact
As we move through 2026, we remain focused on helping nonprofits the best way we know how: using data-driven strategies to ignite generosity. We’re expanding our knowledge, techniques, outreach, and even our 100% women-run team (welcome Izzy to the DB crew).
All of this work goes directly toward the benefit of our clients. And this WBENC recertification is one more way we demonstrate the leadership, standards, and values we bring to this work.
If your organization prioritizes working with diverse, high-quality partners (or collaborates with funders who do)… we’d love to connect! Because when mission-driven nonprofits and women-led businesses work together, incredible things happen.
